Key Benefits:

  • Automatic Inventory Restoration: When an order is cancelled, OneCart will automatically put the inventory back without any manual effort.

  • Time-Saving: No more checking and updating your stock levels manually for cancelled orders.

  • Accuracy: Prevents inventory discrepancies caused by missed manual updates.

  • Easy Setup: You can enable this feature directly from your Shop Settings with just a few clicks.

How to Enable Auto Put Back Inventory for Cancelled Orders:

To start using this feature, follow these simple steps:

  1. Log in to your OneCart account.

  2. Go to Shop Settings > My Platforms > Manage Connections :

    • Navigate to the Shop Settings section from your dashboard.

  3. Set Auto Put Back Inventory to YES:

    • Under Shop Settings, locate the Auto Put Back Inventory? option.

    • Change the setting to YES to enable automatic inventory restoration for cancelled orders.

Your Shop Settings page should now look something like this:

    My Platforms

    • Auto Put Back Inventory?: YES

  4. Save Changes:

    • Once you’ve set it to YES, make sure to save your changes. From this point onward, OneCart will handle the automatic inventory put-back for cancelled orders.

How It Works:

  1. Order Cancellation: When an order placed on one of your connected platforms is cancelled, OneCart detects the cancellation and triggers the auto put-back process.

  2. Inventory Reversal: Any inventory deductions made during the order process are automatically reversed, putting the stock back into your inventory.

  3. Seamless Sync: The inventory sync across platforms (Shopee, Lazada, Shopify, TikTok Shop, etc.) will be updated to reflect the changes in real-time.

Important Notes:

  • Default Setting:
The Auto Put Back Inventory feature is initially turned off. It must be manually activated in the Shop Settings page to begin functioning.

  • Shop-Specific Configuration:
This feature applies per shop. If you have multiple shops, you need to enable it individually for each one if you want it to work across your entire account.

  • Effect on Each Shop:
If Shop A has the feature enabled but Shop B does not, only Shop A will have its inventory automatically replenished for cancelled orders. Shop B will not benefit from this feature.

  • Inventory Reversal Process:
The system checks whether inventory was deducted and if it hasn't yet been restored. It will only trigger the restoration process if the feature is enabled, stock was deducted, and the inventory hasn't been put back yet. This prevents the system from running multiple times and avoids over-reversing stock.

  • Visibility of Restored Stock:
You can view the status of inventory restoration on the Order page, where a flag will indicate whether the stock has been successfully returned.

  • Trigger Event:
The system automatically triggers the inventory put-back process when it detects that an order has been cancelled across any connected platform.
